Love how you have set it up and the lights are so pretty. I enjoy these small treasures so much. Mine small set is all from the Dollar stores and flea markets to make up the perfect little scene. I have a bigger expensive set I collected over 20 years ago, but the dollar store set is my favorite. I have painted and glittered the pieces to give them a glow and to me they are so special.
Thank you for sharing your village. I enjoyed seeing it. Your tree collection sounds so charming too.
I inherited my mom’s xmas ornaments. I love the ones best from when I was a child, many falling apart but so dear to me.
I tried to comment on your owl pincushion post the other day from my iPad and for some reason it wouldn’t let me send it to you - I gave up after three tries. Don’t know what it is with iPads and blogs, sometimes they don’t get along with each other. Anyway, I wanted to say your owls are adorable!
Oh! You’re so such a cheerful soul, you make me smile. I, on the other hand, am feeling cranky - chronic back pain and headaches aren’t leaving me much holiday spirit this year. WAH! I love what you said about addressing your cards — I’ve always hand addressed them until this year and this year I printed out labels since I’m feeling so overwhelmed. I hate to admit it, because I’m a stickler for being “personal” but I’m very much enjoying having made the labels.
Glad you’re getting a good soaking with much needed rain. We are continually being told we have a chance of rain but none has yet to come. Lots of people are removing their lawns in my neighborhood and putting in rocks, gravel or some bark thing. I need to get going on my rain dance again for So. Cal.!
Merriest of Christmases to you and your hubby and your dear ones!
Sally Annie Magundyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16150258920599400128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4775144085133236065.post-39642015642977428842015-12-12T08:55:24.609-08:002015-12-12T08:55:24.609-08:00Yay, Mr. C! Hard to believe your sisters didn't want it, but maybe they just knew that it was meant for you! Have cut way back on Christmas decorations but still have some favorites like my large 3 Kings felt banners stitched with pearls, sequins, etc. 40 years ago. Have to use a bamboo pole to hang them over the fireplace - suppose we could use a ladder but where's the fun in that!
So happy you're getting some rain at last! I know you needed it during the summer but this should still help restore the water table, right? The most special item that speaks 'Christmas' to me is a little paper foil angel that was once on the top of a box of chocolates. Remember when grocery stores used those metal 'stamps' for pricing things? If I remember correctly, my little angel is stamped 49 cents. She was the treetop angel on our tree at home when I was growing up and it was the only decoration I kept when we cleaned out my parents things. Your village is wonderful especially with the sentimental value behind it.
I have put my village up this year but not as big as I have done all other years. It is so much work and I hate the mess so I try to finish it in 3 days and I accomplished that this year. I may do a blog post on my decorations this year. I have 2 large trees this year and 4 small ones. I did not put up the rest. Too much work. I can say that my favorite is my family room tree filled with elves. Hope you have a magical Christmas and a Happy and prosperous New Year.
