If Blogger is working correctly...I shall try to post this on my blog. So many of my followers have been very patient with me over the last three years as Mr. C and I have struggled to move out of California and I am very grateful for each of you. Here is our previous home in Northern CA.

In late June we were finally able to realize our dream and move out of CA to St. George Utah. We have changed our entire environment and lifestyle. From the forest to the desert. Think Zion National Park and you will understand our amazing views...directly from our new-to-us home.

We traded our beautiful pond that Mr. C went to Pond College and built from scratch for this water feature right in our own backyard. Of course Mr. C is having to rebuild most of it due to a lack of TLC. In fact, our home is in need of lots of TLC. It has been a second home with very few visits from the owners who live in Park City Utah. They bought a larger home in this same development as their family has grown over the past seven years. Our fortunate chance to now own this home.
This is our current view right from our courtyard. This photo does not do justice to the beauty of Mother Nature and her Wonders. The Red Cliffs are spectacular. I feel at peace here.
This is the development Mr. C wanted to be in and through his diligence we are finally here and loving it. Thank you for following along. I shall continue to blog if Blogger will cooperate.
Summer is waning and August is passing all too quickly. Schools are back in session. Life is Good and we are Blessed. I have been missing visiting your blogs. Life has gotten very busy of late. After 3 1/2 years we are finally feeling like our home will close escrow the end of this month. So...we are packing and trying to sell stuff. Our new home is half the size of this one so not much will fit. And we are going from our old staid traditional furniture to a new style for us. It will be exciting to have an entire change of environment and state.

It seems no one wants to buy furniture. This is a Vintage Gooseneck Platform Rocker that I have owned 50 years. I have had it recovered twice and it is super comfortable. No room for it so it must go to a new home.

Mr. C is also selling items that will no longer be needed and that we will not have room for. This Generator hasn't found a new home yet.

Fortunately this Radial Arm Saw did find a new home. It took Mr. C and the new owner over an hour just to load it into his truck. HEAVY is an understatement. They finally used the car lift to hoist it up enough to get to tailgate height which helped a little. Mr. C's time was worth far more than the $100 bill he got.
And this weekend we are having the dreaded Moving Sale. I detest having a sale where people steal and try to get my ten cent on the dollar item for a penny. Oh well, at least I have purged a lot so the moving truck can roll on down the road. And this doesn't even reflect the 7 truckloads and 3 carloads I have donated to Hospice, Women of Worth and Cancer Society. I will be glad when all this is over.
I shall be missing from the computer for a while but I am thinking of each of you and hoping you are enjoying the Summer weather.
Blessings and Creative Bliss...<3
On the Saturday before Mother's Day Mr. C and I hosted our Sacramento Lotus Car Club at our home for Breakfast before they continued on their day of cruising to Malakoff Diggins and Downieville for late lunch at the St. Charles. It was a gorgeous day in the Sierras.

Of course I neglected to take any before photos of the foods offered. I made several different quiches and a hash brown cheese ham casserole and orange French Vanilla and Chocolate muffins. We also had fresh fruit, croissants and bagels with fixings. Of course I forgot to put out the deviled eggs I prepared. I don't believe anyone left hungry. I also had waters and home baked chocolate chip and oatmeal craisin cookies bagged for their drive.
Here they are heading off to Malakoff Diggins and Downieville. The reports were all very positive and everyone enjoyed their day of play.
Spring is here in all her blooming glory. Last night we had quite the thunder rain storm. So nice to have fresh rain water to give the plants a much needed drink.
I hope each of you are enjoying your Spring. Some time ago I participated in a Crazy Quilt (CQ) ATC (Artist Trading Card) swap through Pam Kellogg and her Kitty and Me Designs blog. Pam also creates a wonderful CQ magazine. Please check her link for full information. I am new to CQ and this tiny size (2.5" x 3.5") was daunting at first. This "Key to Anywhere" ATC I received from Denise Waterfield, Ohio. Thank you Denise...I love it.
When I was stuck on how to begin, my blog friend Renee Younger, Oregon blogged tutorials which were so very helpful and took the fear out of beginning. This "Spring Tree" ATC is actually created by Renee and I feel so fortunate to have received this in the swap. Thank you Renee...I love it. I submitted two ATCs and unfortunately I cannot find my pictures. Pam notified me that I had a winning entry and therefore I received this bonus CQ ATC from Mary Anne Richardson of Ontario Canada. Mary Anne is an amazing CQ artist and her blog is http://magpiesmumblings.blogspot.com/
Mary Anne was very helpful and encouraging in my CQ ATC journey. Thank you Mary Anne...I love it.
This CQ ATC swap was sew much fun and I hope to participate in the future when the opportunity comes again. Thank you Pam for hostessing and organizing this.
On a personal note, I can only say California is the most difficult state to experience an escrow to sell a home. May I merely say I almost wish I had not announced anything because every day is a trial in patience and perseverance on our part. I need sleep and peace of mind...Please!
Our weather is glorious and Mother Nature is showing her best growing and blooming trees and flowers. The sun is shining and the sky is blue. I am grateful for this. My oh my the days, weeks and months are quickly passing. We are now in full Spring season and the flowers and trees are in glorious growth and buds. As many of you know Mr. C and I have been trying to sell our home and move out of California. Well...if you all promise to cross your fingers and send good positive thoughts I can say we are in escrow. Our buyer however has the right to cancel clear up to her 60th day of escrow and not forfeit any of her deposit. We have lived here and built our dream home with lots of blood, sweat, tears and money however it is time to move on.
It is time for us to change our lifestyle and minimize our workload. Our Sunset years are upon us and we wish to enjoy them fully. These last 20 years we have enjoyed living in the forest and being close to Lake Tahoe and the beauty it offers.
This might be our view. We both love this and really hope and pray our home will close escrow and allow us to stop living in limbo for the past three years. And none of you faithful friends and followers will have to listen to me moan about selling woes. I am so grateful to each of you who have been so supportive and encouraging. It is a gorgeous Sunny Friday here in Nor Cal at our Home For Sale. As part of the staging process for showings, I set some vignettes outdoors...when the sun is shining. This is the table setup for the kitchen and great room deck. There are 2 sets of double French doors leading out to this deck and it is perfect for entertaining. As you can see, I am not fancy. Melamine plates and plastic ware. Lovely fabric napkins courtesy of my dear friend Donna of Brynwood Needleworks. I feel like Spring is finally here. The lemons are brown wooden ones I painted and I am loving them and the money I am saving from not buying fresh ones each week.
This patio is directly outside my Studio French door. I love the simplicity of this vignette. The bench is hand made by Mr. C and very sturdy. You might say I have a bird theme going on with the pillows and another set of fabric napkins from Dear Donna. Thank you my friend. I smile every time I set out these vignettes.
Down at the Pond, which Mr. C built after he went to Pond College, I have another simple vignette. There used to be two lovely teak benches but time and weather were not kind to them and they fell apart. So I merely bought the dreaded plastic Adirondack chairs and we actually love them for ease of moving, cleaning and sitting in. More bird themed pillows.
I have a piece of granite sitting on a large vase and it makes a handy table. More of Donna's bird themed napkins and a pitcher to fill glasses. Sipping away the afternoon while enjoying the froggies and the birds serenade us. Life is Good and we are Blessed.
I shall close for now as I am busy with household chores like laundry.
May each of you begin to have Spring and enJOY the most glorious green leaves and colorful flowers and birds, butterflies and froggies. We also have hundreds of caterpillars doing whatever they are doing...crawling, climbing and just being everywhere. This past weekend we left the deluge of rain and drove to Sonoma California to enjoy the CSRG Vintage Auto Races at Sears Point Raceway. Our weather was gorgeous and the rain stayed away. The track gets very windy so it was cool and we bundled up.
Mr. C was enjoying his weekend watching the club racers drive this historic track. In fact in his racing days he drove this track and it is one of his favorites. I know he is wanting to get back into racing and this group of folks is very friendly and enjoy racing their vintage automobiles. However for us the logistics of buying a car and all of the equipment necessary is not feasible at this time while we are hoping to sell our home and move out of state. And a big Happy Birthday to Mr. C this April 12th as he turns 75. Another reason this CSRG club is right due to many others who are this age.
If we could wave a magic wand this is the car Mr. C would like to own and drive. An amazing Chevron that is wicked fast. Danny Baker owns and drives it very well. It is always good to have a dream and a goal.
My pictures are not good but I at least got the cars in the frame. We were way up on the top of a hill at the back of the track. The views were awesome. And you can see the hills are emerald green.
Yes, I was there and bundled up. The wind really blows up on the hills. Gorgeous days and we enjoyed visiting with friends who are drivers and meeting and chatting with so many of the club members.
What hobbies do you enjoy? We love Formula 1, Indy, Club Racing and so many others.
I am enjoying the longer sunshine each day. We still have rain predicted for a couple days this week. All the new Spring growth will be very happy. Flowers blooming and trees budding.
I would like to share something creative however I haven't done anything worthy of sharing. I barely have time to keep up with all the Random Acts of Mail, Love Notes Fairy mail and this month of April that is National Letter Writing Month. This year I am only participating in NLWM unofficially. Last year it got too crazy for me and I mailed about 300 pieces across this world. No time or extra money for that this year.
Happy Birthdays to my Sisters Joyce, Marie, lots of friends and my dear husband. Amber and Steven may you always be this happy together! Congratulations and welcome to our family Steven.
I was so fortunate to fly to Orange County for this wedding. My daughter Jenifer took excellent care of me and treated me first class from landing to take-off. I had my first Uber ride in the Executive Premier class to Laguna Beach. I ate Sushi and discovered I like Eel Sauce. My daughter replenished my Do-Terra Essential Oils supply. I was treated to a murder mystery at the Modjeska Playhouse which I enjoyed very much. I am truly grateful for the time I was able to spend with my girls. We live 500 miles apart but it seems like a million. Thank you for taking such good care of me!
On the home front we are having Showing #19 this afternoon. No valid offers yet, however I must remember we are only listed for just over a month and Tonya, our agent extraordinaire, is doing a stellar job of marketing and being available.
The Sun is shining and the temps are mid-70F. March is ending with a gorgeous Blue Moon. Happy Hoppy Easter to those who celebrate.

Earlier this year Mr. C nd I were invited to a fun grown up Camping Birthday Party. It was held indoors due to weather concerns. So, knowing the comforts we adults prefer, I thought of a pillow.

I found some fun camping themed fabrics and a nice coordinated solid to compliment the band of the pillowcase.

I have made many of these in the past. Mostly when I made them for children in the hospital. This is referred to the "Burrito Pillowcase" and here is a link to a wonderful how to by Jenny Doan. Very easy to sew.

And just like magic the burrito becomes...

Here are the three fabrics I used. It is beginning to look like a pillowcase...

Viola! A completed pillowcase. All ready for an adult camping event. Great gift idea for any occasion and you can make them any size from very small to very large.
We had Snowmagedden last week and for five days straight it snowed and we shoveled, broomed, snow blowed and bladed. All total we had about 2 feet. Now it is rain and helping to wash away the snow. I hope our water table for Northern California is happier. The ski resorts are certainly happy. Tragically there were some avalanches and some people got saved, some got saved though injured and a couple people did not survive. Always the danger when there is such a lot of fresh snow. Prayers for safety for all.
March came in like a Lion and the days are roaring quickly by. Spring is closer every day! Yay!!! On this last day of February I am sharing Black Cork with you. My blog friend Donna of Brynwood Needleworks sews the most wonderful creations. I decided it was time to treat myself to this gorgeous Grab and Go Crossbody Clutch. I actually had a special need for it at an annual high end car collection meeting and dinner. I wanted my hands free and I wanted no chance of touching any priceless vintage automobiles with any purse.

These are the accessories I added to my request. I put mints in the small case shown on the left. The larger case on the right is what I put my Driver's License and credit cards into. It works beautifully.
This Wristlet Clutch is another treat and I wanted it to use for those times when I just need a few items. Phone and ID and lipstick. I love the handy size and convenience of this.
Donna also sewed a new larger card case for my Blue Cork Clutch I already own. It works perfectly. Thank you sew very much Donna for accommodating my wishes and creating exactly what I wanted. Your workmanship is perfection. I highly recommend anyone to click her link and see the amazing things she creates. Yes, it is quite okay to treat yourselves!
February has just a few hours left. We have had mild and gorgeous weather...until...Sunday night. It snowed and iced and made a mess of everything. Two showings had to be canceled for Monday. And our Open House on Tuesday had to be canceled due to the weather. Heartbreak for us and for our lovely broker who worked very diligently towards this Open House including mailing out 260 personal invitations. Mother Nature is due to dump more snow and ice on us tonight and right on through Saturday. Mr. C worked so hard to shovel and snowblow and broom everything to no avail. He fell several times on the ice and I am grateful he didn't hit his head or break anything when he fell on the slate steps. No complaining here about the weather because we need the water table so badly. Northern California had a five year drought and we do not need to experience that again any time soon. So we put our planning on hold and stay positive and continue to work towards our goal.
Safe and Warm at least we have a roof overhead. Prayers for all affected by bad weather.
March will come in like a Lion and hopefully leave like a lamb. Blessings and Love to each of you... January was a blurr because the days passed so quickly. And now February is here and doing the very same thing that January did. Zoom Zoom is not only for car commercials! LOL
Mr. C and I have been following our directions and we are decluttering our home once again. We now have a storage unit and it is filled in just one day. Thank you to our friend John for helping move all this stuff. We will have a sale in the future when our home sells. But for now we just might need to use all of this to resettle into our current home. Well...truth be told we won't need all of this.
We spent yesterday staging every room and deck/patio. Other than the constant schlepping of stuff to see if anything would work, I truly enjoyed myself. I love having a real decorator with an eye for elegance and simplicity guide me and work with me. We touched every room and every surface. My favorite part is that we "shopped" within our own cupboards and repurposed whatever we could. Thank you sincerely Ms. T for your guidance and expertise and physical help. Mr. C was a very patient helper and photographer. You know how women need to have the furniture moved several times before it is just right.
I love how clean and neat everything looks. This little cabinet before had three colors of towels filling both shelves and I can completely agree it looked too busy. And it had a towel warmer sitting on top. Now it looks so much better. I think you can see how a storage unit was needed. Bring on the formal Photographer. We will be ready for our new home photos. Third time is the Charm!!!
Our weather is glorious for me who does not like Winter. We did get some rain and some snow in late January so that was good for our water table. And we will get lots more I am sure...however for now I am truly enjoying this sunshine and mid-60F temperatures we are having.
I am enjoying your Valentine posts, décor and creations. Hearts are Timeless!
Last August I was fortunate to attend a two day community flea market with my daughter-in-love. Every home and the community all set out treasures and sell them very reasonably. In fact on Sunday noon everything is half-price or less. So I purchased this wonderful stitchery and removed it from a ratty frame. I just knew I was saving this from the trash bin. I adore it for the lovely hand stitches and the content represents everything I love!

Because wall space is always in short supply, I decided it should become a pillow for my sewing room. My friend Martha gave me some perfect linen in a divine taupe color. Thank you Martha. I decided to band the stitchery to enlarge it and to feature the stitchery. The pillow cover is now 18" x 20". I will keep it flat and unstuffed for now. We are still living in limbo...
This is the back of the pillow cover. I decided to make it envelope style. I also decided to use the lovely softly fringed selvedges as they are and not turn them in and sew them inside. I love the look.
When I removed the stitchery from the frame, this little brown paper signature was on the back. That is how I know Adeline did the stitchery. It makes me so happy to imagine Adeline sitting and stitching this piece.
Sew...it is with great happiness that I have Adeline's Stitchery as a lovely pillow for my sewing room chair. Thank you Adeline for your amazing homage to all things I love.
We are having rain and it is colder so now the ski resorts will be getting the snow they need so much.

These are NOT caramels! I overcooked my mixture by just a smidge and ended up with Apple Cider Salted Hard Candy. It is still delicious! At Thanksgiving my Daughter-in-Love made the most delicious Apple Cider Salted Caramels. Soft and chewy and so delicious.
So...I wanted to make them.

She gave me the link to Smitten Kitchen and the recipe. Click here for your recipe. I gathered my ingredients and got to cooking. All was going well until...I almost reduced all of the apple cider. It looked like I had foam only but I continued. These are very easy to make...if you pay attention.

I poured my cooked batch into my prepared pan. It looked amazing. I let it sit to cool off. And this is when I discovered I must have overcooked it by just a smidge. My caramels are not soft and cannot be cut with an oiled knife! Ruined! I was very sad. Mr. C to my rescue. He suggested I break it up with a hammer.

I took my hard rock slab and a clean kitchen towel to his workshop. Then I got his big heavy hammer and began to break pieces. No need to wrap these delicious jewels in parchment paper. They are in a container and ready for my pleasure. These pieces merely melt in my mouth! I am not going to waste them...since I love sugar and all candy. Yes, I will try to make the real caramels in the future. For now I am enjoying the yummy flavor of my Apple Cider Salted Hard Candy.
We have been having some rain. So refreshing and the hills are the most divine green colors. My prayers continue for everyone across our Nation who are experiencing radical weather. It is unbelievable that Highway 101 remains closed in the Santa Barbara/Montecito area of California.
January days are going by so quickly I just cannot keep up. So I shall remain Mindful of each and every hour...even if I have no idea what day it is.
Creative Bliss and Valentine HeArts to each of you my dears...<3Createologyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17141896048450385243noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4775144085133236065.post-73414787425561907992018-01-10T15:32:00.001-08:002018-01-10T15:32:47.368-08:00Powder Room Finish...

Before Christmas Mr. C decided to shred our Powder Room. We both agreed it needed updating. That was only after we each confessed that neither of us really loved the old Victorian look with the dark navy blue wallpaper covered in little pink roses. Taking that petrified wallpaper off with its vintage border was a lot of work! It only came off in tiny little bits. It took 8 full days to remove. Then Mr. C worked his handyman magic and resurfaced every wall. Primed walls and ceiling and then put on two coats of a lovely light shade of gray excellent quality paint.

Now the Powder Room looks brand new and fresh and bright. No more 1980's bright brass fixtures. No more dark dated wallpaper and border. Simple clean lines and just a bit of sexy curves.
Job well done Mr. C! I do hope there are no more major changes to be done. It is exhausting and messy and expensive.
My blog friend Donna of Brynwood Needleworks sent me a lovely little pin with my last order before the holidays. The pin says, "Choose JOY". Here is what the card reads:
Choose to live each day with joy in your heart. You have the power to determine your journey.
Achieve your destination through inner strength. Reach out - let your life be an adventure.
Look for the unseen, listen to the silence. Open your mind and heart to opportunities.
Believe in yourself and your dreams. Choose Joy for the Journey!
This speaks to my being Mindful as I travel through each day of 2018. Thank you Donna Dear. I hope each of you choose JOY as you travel your Journey. JOYful January to each of you...<3Createologyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17141896048450385243noreply@blogger.com19tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4775144085133236065.post-7379657314489369592018-01-05T11:05:00.000-08:002018-01-05T11:05:02.644-08:00Fresh New Year 2018...

I always enjoy a Fresh New Year with its promises of greatness. I do not make Resolutions however I have selected a word each year. I wasn't going to this year however it selected me. MINDFUL
I shall be Mindful of each and every day as I am determined to make the best of every moment.
In the first few days I was able to accomplish this UFO. I joined in Pam Kellogg's CQ ATC swap. You can check out her blog here...Kitty and Me Designs. This is the second Crazy Quilted Artist Trading Card (ATC) I am submitting.
I am fairly new to Crazy Quilting and I learn with each project I create. This ATC looks a little wonky but it is merely my finishing zig zag stitching. This is 2.5" x 3.5" which is the required size. I am calling this one "Birds and Flowers". I really like the greens and pinks together.
I came across this Lean Cuisine quote from a few years ago and would like to share it with you.
"The road to success is not straight. There is a curve called Failure, a loop called Confusion, speed bumps called Friends, and caution lights called Enemies. You will have flat tires called Jobs, but if you have a spare called Determination, an engine called Perseverance, a driver called Will Power, you will make it to a place called Success."
May each of you have a Blessed 2018 with lots of Peace, Joy, Health and Creative Bliss...<3Createologyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17141896048450385243noreply@blogger.com12tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4775144085133236065.post-78711202474114459872017-12-30T14:27:00.000-08:002017-12-30T14:30:40.103-08:00Farewell 2017...Welcome 2018...

Saying farewell to 2017 is easy even though I feel like time is speeding faster than I can keep up. Mr. C and I chose "Discover" as our word for 2017 and it did not disappoint us. We discovered much in the past 12 months. More on this as I post. I managed to make Martha Stewart's Egg Nog Caramels. Click this link for her recipe. It was almost a soupy disaster however I managed to cut and roll them into little bite-sized bits of yumminess. Wrapped in parchment paper and bundled to give as gifts they were successful after all.

Having our home listed for seven months with the first broker and then 5 months with the second broker was a huge discovery for us. We spent a ransom in upgrading everything from the landscaping to re-painting the exterior trim from blue to white and lots of indoor paint and carpet based on each broker's suggestions. Well! We had only seven people actually tour in person and we had ZERO offers. Not even an insultingly too low of an offer. We became exhausted living in a fish bowl 24/7...just in case of a showing. We also became very discouraged with the lack of effort put forth by the brokers. December we removed our home from MLS. As you can see in the photo above, we are not done spending time and money on trying to find a buyer who wants this beautiful peaceful serene home.

Our powder room will be current and hopefully appeal to the finicky buyers there are nowadays. Mr. C is a very hard worker and he very much deserves to have this home sold. He is so ready to move out of our native state. We took a road trip recently to confirm how much our chosen destination tugs at our heartstrings. Yes, Yes, Yes!!! Now we merely have to overcome our rapidly declining purse strings and move on...PLEASE!!!
I have no witty year end post. I do have some thoughts on how I would like 2018 to be kind to us. I am not going to select a word as I have done in so many past years. Instead I am going to be much more MINDFUL of how I spend my time and talents. I am in charge of my Creative Bliss...she says while stamping her feet!
I would like to share this quote by Sally Berger which I recently saw on a Mary Englebright image:
"The secret of getting ahead is getting started." How very fitting for me due to my always waiting for the right time or the right knowledge or the perfect situation. "If not now...when?"
I have been so grateful for you, my faithful followers, as you share your time and talents with blogland and other social media forums. I am inspired and humbled.
Blessings for Peace, Love, Bliss and lots more Creativity for all of 2018...xo <3Createologyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17141896048450385243noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4775144085133236065.post-15244481800154028882017-12-15T14:03:00.002-08:002017-12-15T14:03:56.766-08:00Harry & David Pears...

Thank you Tom and Joanne for the lovely Harry and David Pears. Thankfully I opened the box and discovered the pears are ripe and need to be eaten right now! I believe the instructions inside the box should be on the outside. Who knew the pears would ripen faster in the gift box left on the kitchen counter for two days. Well there is no way two of us can eat nine pears right now. So...

I got busy washing and cutting and prepping to save the pears. Even Mr. C was shocked to see so many pans on the stove. I made 8 cups of simple sugar syrup. Then boiled both the syrup and pear slices together for two minutes.

Now my pear slices are cooling. These slices are no longer crisp but rather mushy. The will have to be eaten like sautéed fruit. I will be searching Google and Food sites for interesting ways to use these. I do love a crumble coffee cake or cobbler.

Here is my resulting mason jar and two quart baggies of "preserved" Harry and David Pears. Do you have any favorite ways of eating "mushy" pear slices? I would love to have you share your recipes. Thank you very much.
I have been handwriting my Christmas cards. Yes, I do prefer to handwrite the envelope address and a personal message inside each card. Sometimes this is the only time of year we connect with past friends or family and I want everyone to know I am thinking of them with each pen stroke.
Staying busy this time of year is a must, yet we also must take time for ourselves to eat right and get enough sleep and not stress over everything. Do only what you can do and others will understand.
Merry Christmas Blessings...xoCreateologyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17141896048450385243noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4775144085133236065.post-36987176220408662642017-12-11T11:02:00.001-08:002017-12-11T11:02:39.551-08:00Needle Tatted Wreaths...

My desire to blog more often is strong yet my failing to do so is stronger. Life keeps interrupting my desires. I have managed to be a tiny bit creative and productive. A simple ball of crochet thread in size 10, a long tatting needle in size 5 and some inexpensive beads in size 6.0 are allowing me to make some small Christmas Wreath ornaments.
I can pack these supplies in a small tote and keep them ready for any spare time I might have. Of course I must also have excellent daylight or lamp light to see so that leaves out any evening TV time when Mr. C must have complete darkness.
The beads get strung onto the thread before any tatting begins. The beads don't always fit over the needle eye so I use a dental flosser loop for stringing which makes it so much faster and easier.
Here is the process of tatting. Chains and rings and nothing more. This link to Rusti Kate might be helpful. Her YouTube how to videos are very easy to follow. Thank you Rusti Kate. So while life stays busy my fingers also stay busy.
Our weather is unseasonably warm and sunny. California is on fire and my prayers are for everyone affected by these horrific fires. Thankfully Mr. C and I are safe and our children and grandchildren are safe...so far.
I continue to enJOY each of your blogs and holiday decorations. Thank you for sharing.
For those of you who follow me on FaceBook you already got my opinion of my local Post Office. I was so proud of myself for completing 17 Pocket Letters for my International mail recipients. I had taken one to my local Post Office and confirmed with the clerk that my International postage was sufficient to send my envelope on its way. So I came home and completed all 17. I mailed them. Two days later I collected my mail in the pouring rain and there were all 17 of my envelopes. I have no photo here but I did on my FB post. They were wet and soggy and the imbecile at the post office had rubber banded them all together with a note. It said these must mail as a parcel and I would need to add an additional $12.35 postage to each one! Excuse Me!!! I am not wealthy and therefore that cannot happen. To put it mildly, I was incensed!!! I have had lots of issues with my mail being delayed and returned by the idiots at the Post Office but this tops them all. I am sad and angry and feel the worst for my recipients. I had to switch up my plans...
In the meantime I was able to sew 10 Origami Coin Purses using fun Mahjong themed fabrics. I found this on Sew4Home and here is the link. I love these coin purses and they have lots of uses. I won't divulge the purpose for this group so as not to spoil any holiday gift idea. I may need to sew a few more. I enjoy being able to sew these. The first ones I made, I hand sewed metal snaps and it took lots of time and work. Then my friend Donna of Brynwood Needleworks introduced me to Kam Snaps. WOW! So much easier and quicker. Thank You Donna. Check out the links and you will find the pattern so you can make some for your gift giving.
On our Home front, Mr. C and I have removed our home from being listed. We kept at it for an entire year and had NO Buyer and NO offers. Only a handful of showings and nothing positive. After meeting with our broker and the VP of Sales and Marketing for Coldwell Banker Grass Valley, we heard nothing new to encourage us to stay listed. They stressed the importance of us being "STRATEGIC" with our marketing...that is there job and what we are paying them for! They also stressed we must be "STRATEGIC" in our pricing...which meant they wanted us to drop the sales price another $50,000 and include an additional $2500 for the Buyer's agent commission. My very wise husband said, "Anyone can sell dollar bills for 50 cents."
Weather wise we have had some very good soaking rain the past couple of weeks. The mountain ski resorts have gotten good snow and are open for the season. Looks like we will not be having a drought this year. Autumn has shown her colors and now the trees are barren. Winter is just around the corner. Happy Thanksgiving my fellow Americans and Safe Travels to all...
Blessings to each of you around the world and may you take time to enjoy the Magic of the Season... Hello November. You are beginning the month in a most productive manner. Thank You.
I thought I was done sewing Dresses for Girls Around the World...until my local ladies invited me to join them. I have just completed six dresses and here they are shown on the sewing room love seat. I was able to unpack enough of my sewing supplies and machine in order to sew these. Now I have renewed zest and will continue to sew.

Yesterday, today and the rest of this week I decided to make a mess on my studio work table which is 4' x 9' and such a joy to work on. It is high enough that I don't have to lean over and kill my back. This is also where I do all my sewing fabric cutting. With the holidays coming all too quickly, I decided I better get busy. I gathered supplies and got to work...actually this is pleasure for me.
I am creating some Pocket Letters for Christmas mailings. Due to the cost of postage, I am keeping them very simple. Just a few stickers and some chocolate and a little surprise charm.
I decided to use one of my many 2018 calendars I buy from multiple charity organizations. This little fox just melts my heart. I will have lots of variety when I am finished. The post office is already getting busy. We have November birthdays to celebrate. My Granddaughter Amy and Mr. C's Sister along with some friends. Happy Birthday to each of you.
We are getting rain and the Fall leaves are blanketing the ground. Winter is near and I feel the chill in the air. I shall try my very best to Embrace Winter this year...as it is not my favorite season.
November Blessings and Happy Thanksgiving to those in our United States of America. Mr. C and I took the Amtrak Train to Omaha Nebraska specifically to see my baby sister and her family. I had not seen her in almost 25 years. No photo of our initial hug but I can assure you it was the deepest hug ever! This is Wendy and her husband Harold. They live a simple life in a very small town and yet they are happy and surrounded by family.
Wendy and I sat together at one table so we could catch up while we were eating. Wendy raised five Daughters and now has lots of Grandchildren. They all sat at other tables and visited together. The little bit of rain and cold didn't stop the kids from playing and running all over. Everyone but us brought food and it was all very good. Thank you everyone for driving and gathering and feeding us.
This is Candice, fourth daughter and Auntie to all her nieces and nephews. Here is a photo of a gift Candice made and mailed to me in 1999 right after we moved to Northern California. It is her image right down to the glasses. Everyone, including Candice, was very surprised I have saved it all these years. I will save it forever because she made it just for me.
Here is a group photo Mr. C took of all of us. We kept our visit shorter due to the complete exhaustion from our train trip and no sleep and due to the cold wet weather. My sister's town doesn't even have a motel so we still had to drive 25 miles to our night of sleep.
I am forever grateful for the wonderful visit and time we shared together. The next morning we took Wendy and Harold to breakfast at the local diner and we got to visit for another couple hours before it was time for us to hit the road to Arkansas. That might be the next post.
October has come and is leaving. Leaves continue to Fall. We expect rain here and snow in the mountains this weekend. Winter is not far away. Mr. C and I are hunkering in for another Winter here. No offers and No Buyer. We are most depressed at our continued living in LIMBO!!!
Mr. C and I recently took a train trip from Colfax California to Omaha Nebraska. Just because we could and Mr. C (Wayne) wanted an adventure. Our SNOW train to Reno in January wasn't enough for him so off we went. Here is the link to that post http://createology.blogspot.com/2017/01/wayne-on-train.html

It was 2 nights so we had a "Roomette". I think this is a misnomer Amtrak.

This is our Roomette and it is an economy of scale. My elbows touch both sides of our room. Of course I neglected to take a photo of our bunk beds made up for nighttime. The grey slanted top is the bunk that folds down. Mr. C had the top and it was very claustrophobic with NO room to even turn over. There is not to be any sleeping on the train due to the herky jerky motions and the bumpy noisy ride. We were beyond exhausted when we arrived in Omaha.

What the train is excellent for is the scenery you get to enjoy along the way. This is the Truckee River heading to Reno. Sitting back and relaxing and watching the miles go by is wonderful.

There were miles and miles of these flattop ranges...somewhere in Utah I believe. We got to sit in the observation car and look out the windows. We also met lots of interesting folks having their train adventures. Train travel is not cheap nor is it quick. Amtrak shares the rail lines that belong to the big boys like Union Pacific and Southern Pacific. Freight trains rule and have priority at all times. If you travel on Amtrak just be aware that there are no SET schedules...merely "suggested" schedules. We ran late at all stops.
We followed the Colorado River for 235 miles which is amazing! My photography through windows and smudges and blotches is not very good but my memories are quite clear.

The Colorado Rockies were spectacular! We did see Fall colors even though they had not had their necessary cold snap yet so the colors were coming slowly.
Relaxing and enjoying the scenery was pure Bliss! We just needed sleep. We arrived in Omaha almost three hours late. There was no one in the building to help us. There were no taxis to take us to the airport where the only auto rentals are. There was no cell service for Mr. C and therefore no Uber app or way to call them. I was able to call my sister and family and let them know we are late to the reunion. No worries...
I will share that adventure next time.
So glad to be home and enjoy our gorgeous Fall colors. Our house sitter was a gem and took excellent care while we were gone. Still no offers...
Beautiful days to each of you and I will be visiting y'all very soon. Grateful Blessings...xoCreateologyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17141896048450385243noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4775144085133236065.post-66168725711831080962017-10-06T17:04:00.004-07:002017-10-06T17:04:51.963-07:00Autumn CQ ATC...

So this is my little 2.5" x 3.5" ATC for swapping. I welcome constructive criticism and know I have lots to learn. I did take a Basic Crazy Quilting online class from Kathy Shaw and it was wonderful to introduce me to CQ and give me lots of techniques. Thank you Kathy for your free classes.
Autumn is here and the weather is cooler. The colors are happening and the grey squirrels are extra busy gathering their Winter harvest of acorns and pinecones.
Happy Halloween and Fall decorating my friends...<3

I realize my photos have absolutely nothing to do with my blog title. The days are passing so quickly and I am not keeping up with my desire to post more often. The calendar is showing me another month is quickly fading away. Just like the greens of Summer which are now turning golden, and sunset and crimson we are Falling into Autumn. It will be time for Mr. C and I to take our annual Cruise in Clara (our trusty vintage Rambler) to view the gorgeous Fall Foliage colors.
However, I have been busy with keeping my house and outdoor chores current. We actually had a showing this week and remain hopeful that our "one buyer" will find us soon. In the meantime we are preparing for another Winter here.
I asked Mr. C to help me draw a circle with twelve spokes because I was having great difficulty doing so on my own. Math and Engineering are not even in my realm of knowledge...Mr. C is the double Engineer and therefore I knew he could do it. Oh Dear! He took me to his "white board" and it became lesson time. Yikes! After a while of me trying to listen and really show interest he brought out his "tools of the trade" from his high school and college years. I LOVE these tools and begged him to never get rid of them. The white handles are ivory...SWOON!

After a couple hours Mr. C did in fact draw me a proper circle with twelve spokes and I was elated. Before I could snatch the paper he did exactly what I knew he would do. Yes! He ripped it up and told me I could use his tools to draw my own. Gulp! Thank goodness I did pay attention and it was very fresh in my mind. He left the room and I was able to actually produce the proper 1" circle and the required twelve spokes I needed. I was more than proud of my accomplishment and showed my teacher. "Well done!" I thanked him for showing me how and letting me use his treasured tools.
You will have to wait until another post to see what I needed this for. Can anyone venture a guess? P.S. The image in the lower left is the hand drawn one I did before lessons and you can see it is way off center. Bad!
Our weather has been cooler and lovely. The Fall colors are happening all over town. I would welcome some rain. Until then I shall hand water more of the lawn as it is still dry even with our nightly drip watering. The new sod really gets thirsty!
I am enjoying seeing what everyone is creating and decorating. There will be no decorating here while we are listed. The brokers do not want anyone offended. Our world is complicated!
