Without power the house got down to 41 degrees indoors...upstairs.
Without power my beloved 17 year old kitty shivers until I hold her in my arms.
Without power it is very dark.
Without power is how many people must live.
I am so very grateful for the power I have and that it is restored.
Four days and nights without...yet I am fortunate.
I have a home.
I have warm clothes.
I have food.
I have so much to be thankful for.
You can be certain I will be donating many items of need to those without.

I am grateful.
Thank you for each of your well wishes.
I am blessed.
BURRR! No power is the pits, for sure! A couple years ago we had an ice storm and no electricity for 8 days...thankfully we have a wood burning fireplace so we could keep part of the house comfortable! Bless those without and it's sweet of you to make some donations to those who need it :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you have power again! We are indeed blessed and sometimes it takes something like losing power to remind us how lucky we are.

So glad to hear you got your power back! And there is so much to be thankful for . . . .its the little things that we take for granted everyday .
ReplyDeleteNothing like taking a walk in someone else's shoes to make us all feel so very grateful. I'm happy you are safe and warm and I appreciate the reminder that we all are not so fortunate.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that the truth of it - we can do without things, help others and survive discomfort, but in the doing of it, we see what is important. We used to live on a lake without power, running water, central heating or plumbing - for 3 1/2 years we lived with propane lights, hauling water in pails and heating it with wood we chopped and we lived more in those years than in the 27 have come since!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear you and your cat are alright!
,That is just horrible to be without power for that long! Glad you are all toasty warm again and your kitty is warm!

There is nothing like the loss of something to help us realize how valuable it is! We are very lucky to have such wonderful things like power, heat, food, clean water....
ReplyDeleteI too feel blessed. I am glad you have your power back!

Terri
Ohhhhh Burrrr, No heat? no light? no computer??? Your poor little kitty too! Glad your back up and running. At times like these I'm glad we have a wood stove! We actually just put a electric furnace in our home a few years ago, Used wood heat only.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are warm again! And your kitty!!! yikes.
ReplyDeleteOh how we need spring! It is coming!

It's so thoughtful and kind of you to think of giving to others who go without (I like how you took a bad experience and turned it into something good.)
ReplyDeleteI feel for you! 2 yrs. ago we went 8 days in the dead of winter without power. I thought it would never end.
