Necklace Raffle Donation...
It is fair to say I love beads. Sometimes I buy beads just because. That is the case with these black and red lampwork beads. They are not high end quality however they are nicely colored and fit a theme I was thinking of. Each year there is a Widder's Ball that is held around Mother's day. The color theme is always black and red. If you are familiar with E. Clampus Vitus that will explain more than I can. I put in a link if you wish to read more. Back to the beads... This annual ball is one way the organization earns money for scholarships they give each year to high school students. I like to help out. Here is my design board with beads and other elements auditioning.
Here is the final design. A necklace and earrings set. All in red and black which are the signature colors. I have used the lampwork beads, crystals, vintage beads, tassels and findings. There will be a raffle that determines whose winning ticket gets drawn. Each year I make something different. For this group over the top is better! Lots of old time Gold Rush and Victorian clothing is worn. One year I created a little purse. One year a lace choker. And so it goes. An opportunity for me to create something and share it with others. That makes me feel very good.
Our Winter was the mildest we have had in 15 years of living here. This is truly the most beautiful Spring we have ever enjoyed. The pollen is very high and making it difficult for me but the flowers are blooming and the birds are singing and I am happy.
Maybe this week I will spend time in my wonderful sewing room. Of course I will also be doing my weed abatement pulling sessions. I better really get at it as the ground is getting dry and hard very quickly (we have clay soil). Those tiny little weed roots can get really stubborn. A weeding we will go...Hi Ho the MerriO...A weeding we will go...
Are you enjoying your days being creative? Thank you for your wonderful comments. I read every one of them. I also wish to welcome my newest followers and hope you enjoy what you see here. Thank you to my faithful followers whom I cherish and call my friends. Bless each of you...
This is a lovely set I am sure it will sell quickly and help your organization. It's so nice to be able to donate hand made items to our favorite charities. ~Diane
ReplyDeleteHi sherry, Glad to see your are crafting. I pull weeds all the time, they are so bad to pull from the root. I have really cute gloves my husband buys me, but I refuse to wear them. They don't work for me. I like to stick my fingers deep in there and pull the root. LOL.
ReplyDeleteLove your necklace. It is gorgeous. I too love beads and have all types and colors.
Have fun in the yard. Our weather is so yucky here in South Florida. Lots of rain, muggyness, humidity and very hot. Ana
Very classy. My new girl wants a bracelet so I'm back to beading again! :)
ReplyDeletebeautiful creation and I think its a healthy addiction!!! lol,
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad your spring is lovely we haven't saw ours yet,
Hi Sherry, your set is gorgeous and I am sure it will sell promptly. You always design wonderful treasures.
ReplyDeleteI love the color combo.
Have fun weedin. I know that story.
Wishing you a wonderful week and happy creating.
Hugs, CM
I love the element of the tassels!! They are pretty hot right now so I am sure, along with your quality of work, these will be snatched right up! Someone is going to leave the ball with a very big smile on their face!
ReplyDeleteA lovely set of jewellery, someone is going to be delighted to have it.
ReplyDeleteYou are a lucky lady, most of us have had horrendous winter and you have had the mildest. Spring has sprung here too, daffodils and tulips out and plenty of weeds were dealt with on sunday, now watching for blossom on fruit trees to appear, then the wind will come and blow it all off!
Sherry, this is truly BEAUTIFUL! You have such a kind heart, dear friend. xo
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful set of jewelry! How wonderful of you to use your talents for good!
ReplyDeleteI hope you win the war on weeds Sherry - I just attacked my mint yesterday...
ReplyDeleteYour necklace and earrings are divine, and a wonderful thing to do - perfect for a Victorian ensemble... you are a generous soul!
It makes one feel good to do for others, doesn't it, Sherry? Your black and red jewelry set looks wonderful, and I'm sure the recipient will love it!
ReplyDeleteThese days with a bad knee, I'm using more mulch and doing less weeding. Well, once it's warm enough.....there's still bits of snow and ice about.....
What a fun thing to do, it always makes me feel good too! Your necklace is gorgeous, I don't do any jewelry making, so I love that you can lay out your pattern on a board. So glad your weather is good, so is ours here in Orlando, but so many still have snow!

What a lovely set you have created. You just amaze me with all you do. Take it easy in the yard now. I am a bit stiff from yard work yesterday. Ha my age is catching up with me. Spring sunshine to you. Sharon
ReplyDeleteLovely!!! But I'm really 'digging' your pink bead tray! Mine is an ugly gray!
ReplyDeleteWhat a PERFECT donation piece, my friend! We have had a very bad allergy season down here this year, too...so bad, in fact, that after the third sinus infection, I drug myself in for a Kenalog shot - not a bit of problems, since! Hope the rest of your week is as perfect as your necklace - XOXO
ReplyDeleteGorgeous necklace and I love how you incorporated the tassles into it. Very unique!
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry, So fun to visit and enjoy seeing your gorgeous necklace again. I love the tasseles.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by and your sweet comment. Your encouragment is always so uplifting.
Hugs, CM
Some lucky person will be delighted with this lovely set!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a lovely set of earrings and necklace that some lucky person is going to be delighted to have. Sounds like a very worthwhile cause too. We have had a long and brutal winter and still have a ton of snow! Not one green blade of grass to be seen and the robins are back. Poor things. It's supposed to start getting warmer by the weekend though :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful set, and donation. Who wouldn't love to get that.
ReplyDeleteSherry that is a gorgeous collection!! How fun to auction it off. I don't have time to click the link, but I like that there is a scholarship given!!
ReplyDeleteMy life is INSANE!! My house is in total shambles, my husband is working late since last week so I have more house duties, in addition to my own work. I was up till midnight on this computer on Monday. Soooo. sorry I haven't been visiting as I should!! I peeked at your other posts, happy birthday to your sister!!! Love the card!!
We are still not enjoying typical spring weather. It has been so windy!!! Never have I seen winds like this for this long. And they are cold winds too! Nothing as begun to grow yet and the grass is still dead. Our trees aren't really getting buds either! It is May in 1 week isn't it?
Enjoy your spring and the creativity it brings!!
xxD
I actually do know about the Clampers! A good bunch. Your generosity goes a very long way!
ReplyDeleteThat is a very pretty set. I don't think beads need to be high end to look good. It's the manner in which they are put together and presented that makes them stunning. And the fact that the jewelry is made with heart and soul makes them even more special. Have a great weekend. Tammy
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry, I bet you are working on something fun and I hope the raffle went well if you had it already. The necklace is so gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHope you are beginning to warm up and see some springtime. It is cool here today, but the flowers are loving it. They know that lots of Texas heat is on the way before we know it.
Have a great weekend.
Hugs, Celestina Marie
What a beautiful set you've created. The happy new owner will be proud to wear it. Lots of spring in the air around here and starting to feel more like summer:-)
