Lost But Found...

This is a Pinterest photo of a back-to-school idea.  What a great way to help your child's classroom and give supplies to the teacher.   A layered "cake" of crayons, glue, spiral notebooks, pencils and more.  If your children are grown then maybe you can adopt a local elementary classroom and surprise one of the many teachers who have to subsidize their classroom supplies with purchases they make out of their own paychecks.  And I don't know any teachers who are paid enough to afford to do this over and over again.  Just a thought...
I am hoping I don't lose my wonderful loyal followers since I am not posting anything for so many days.  I am actually using a borrowed computer and have none of my photos or content on this computer.  I also am missing all my blog favorites I follow.  I did find a few and enjoyed them.  Hopefully I won't be without my computer very much longer.   I do have an explanation I will share with you when I post next.
I have been stitching on my Sashiko fabric and that has saved my sanity.  I find stitching on it takes me to a wonderful peaceful calm.  The stitches are many and I hope to not run out of my special Sashiko thread.  I have no idea what I will use this cloth piece for but it will have a huge amount of my time and thoughts stitched into it.
Stay safe over this upcoming Labor Day weekend.  I hope you will find time to spend doing just what you love doing.  I will be stitching...
Happy Creative Hearts everyone.

  3. Love this, and teachers do appreciate all the help they can get! I know, my daughter teaches 3rd grade in Kentucky, she spends a ton out of pocket, but worth it for her kids! Thanks for shedding a light on it and making more people aware. ~Diane

  7. Hope your computer problems get fixed soon. It is a real pain not being able to access your photos. I was forced to use my IPad for 3 weeks because of emailing problems and couldn't wait to get it all sorted out and backin blog land proper. Hugs Mrs A.

  8. Super cute idea for any teacher. Love it. My sister is a teacher and I am always helping her out, I give her things to give to kids that I pick up at Michaels cheap, especially the one penny items. I just scored on tons of small clip boards with the pads and pens and some really pretty bubble pens. She puts them in a trunk for the kids to pick from when they receive a good grade or behave for the week.
I have been in my craft room creating layouts for Halloween, Fall and Christmas. I am also busy getting the house ready for my brother that is visiting from California next week.
    Happy Crafting to you. Ana

  11. Hi Createology gal!

I love your idea of donating supplies to a local school teacher...it is awful they have to supply their classrooms. We can send money all over the world but not our schools...

  13. Thanks so much for your visit!!

Teachers here in Pa. have it made... They do NOT have to buy those things for their students...the schools supplies it. They make about $70,000 a year, more than I make as a nurse and only work 9 mouths out of the year and they do not pay a dime toward their health care here either! Yet, you can not beleive how many school districts have teachers striking now that school will be starting because they want more money and do not want to have to pay anything toward their health care!!

  16. Such a cute idea and I know any teacher would appreciate it. In the past I have given crafting supplies to the art teacher at a local school. Once I donated a pickup load of dried gourds...they made masks, vessels and all sorts of things with them.

  22. Hello Sherry,
I am back from my month long computer vacation. I wanted to stop by and see how you and your dear hubby are doing. I have had a great time seeing all the crafts you have been doing as I catch up on your blog! Yay!
I am sorry to hear you are away from your computer now, and maybe having some problem. I hope it is not a bad one. I hope the fires have not become worse.
I am thinking of you and wishing you and hubby the best.
    Hugs,

  23. This is a wonderful idea for a teacher gift! My daughter just started her very first day as a music teacher in a new music room last Tuesday and the day before she was here rummaging through all the old boxes and bins in the attic of craft supplies I accumulated during my years as a scout leader. She was able to find enough pencils and crayons for her students to use. As a recent college grad she really did not have funds to consider trying to buy supplies for her classroom. This would have been a blessing. I shall have to make her one ... thanks for the idea ... :) Pat
