Bubble Wand Playtime...

Sometimes playing in the studio just has to come first!  I cannot tell you how much delight I had in making these bubble wands.  My inspiration was from the Frugal Crafter and here is her tutorial link.  She says she is having a Lawrence Welk moment.  I do remember how many bubbles that set always had.  I personally love blowing bubbles into the breeze and seeing how far they may go.  I have not added any ribbons as I want to do that when I am ready to gift these.

Here are my supplies.  I do not know what wire I used as it was very old and of course had no packaging. Mr. C's rule..."Volume In must equal Volume Out!"  I consider the packaging to be lots of Volume!!!  lol As you can see I even used some green floral wire.  I wouldn't be certain my wire will not rust.  These are my beginner's batch.  For my next wands I will use some finer wire, including my favorite copper wire...if it hasn't all been stolen by copper thieves!  I wrapped the blowing end around a pill bottle and the hanging end around either the green tool or the pen.  I didn't like either very well but they did work.  The beads are all gone so I couldn't show you them before hand.  I honestly used the cheap lightweight plastic beads from my local $1.29 store.  They are very light and do not bend or distort the handle. I am trying to use what I have and sometimes that is quite a challenge.  Not buying everything "perfect" for every project really allows me more creative thought and process and I enjoy that little bit of challenge.

What do you think?  Fun and whimsy?  Party favors?  Magic Fairy Bubble Wands?  I am such a little girl at heart and still enjoy the simple joys of life.  While I was making these I had lots of loving and fond thoughts of my cousin who passed away all too soon in life.  She also loved blowing bubbles and we agreed it is quite the stress reliever.  Thank you Eleene for playing along with me.  Hmmm...I wonder what other beads I have in my bead boxes?  Not today.  I am cleaning up part of my studio.  While filling up the recycle bin with cardboard.  Why did I think I needed to save so much cardboard?  I am certain I can get more when I need it.  Wow!  I can see the wall and the floor now.  It actually feels pretty good to eliminate some of the clutter! There, I have said it and now I can release the desire to go retrieve some of my cardboard back.  My very favorite dog I met years ago was named Zelda the Wonder Dog and she was a Border Collie.  I do believe I am a Border Hoarder and my SuperPower name is Sherelda.  That just might explain why I cannot throw things away.  Just as soon as I donate or give something away sure as anything I need it and miss it!  Does that happen to you or am I all alone?
Our weather is pure Spring.  Weeds growing wildly with abandon as we had such glorious rain a few days ago.  Birds of all feathers are flitting about and singing their lovely tunes.  I could stand at the window and watch them for hours.  Well...at least until Mr. C calls me.
As April quickly comes to a close for this year we shall head into May.  What might May hold in store for you?  I hope lots of play time and doing just exactly what you love to do.  Creative Joyful Bliss...

  4. Nice to meet you Sherelda! I am thinking I could be part of your hoarding super hero team. Yes, it never fails, I take things to the charity shop and the next day think of 10 things I could have done with it....I have gone back to the Goodwill, to buy things back I have donated!
I guess there is no hope for us.
The bubble wands are grand and when I saw the first photo immediately thought Fairy Bubble Wands! There is a man here that sells some kind of super bubble mixture he stands at the entrance to Walmart creating these huge bubbles. The "wand" is a rope! He must sell enough to keep him coming back and I am always happy to see him and the bubbles!

  24. My DH laughed at me several years ago when I bought myself a giant jar of bubble magic! Ah, but what fun I had creating bubbles and watching them fly about the yard, glistening, catching the sunlight and creating rainbows. And how young I felt, and carefree blowing bubbles!
There would be two things to make the fun even better-- having a friend to blow bubbles with, and having some fancy beaded bubble wands! Bubblicious memories!

  25. Well somebody is going to be blowing bubbles in style. Those are the prettiest bubble wands I have ever seen. I need to do some serious organizing and purging. Why is it so very hard to do? And why does it have to take so much time? :) Best wishes, Tammy

  26. So nice to see you follow Lindsay too, she is a really sweet person,. I love your bubble wands, they are perfect! My kids laugh at me but I have a "waiting" zone in the basement, that things go into before I get rid of them, I usually let them stay 1 year then do the final toss. I can't tell you how many things I have reclaimed from my waiting zone, but it has been quite a few. ~Diane

  27. Oh I love this. I love to blow bubbles. I used to sit on our deck and blow bubbles for Teddy to chase and bark at. You have taken this bubble blowing to a whole new level. Just darling!
We actually hit 90 degrees here in the foothills and now rain mixed with sun breaks. Have a bubblie (couldn't help myself) weekend.
