I love this room Mr. C built for me.
I am not ashamed of showing it like this as it means I have been creative and that is the best feeling. This is what this room was designed for. Sewing and being happy is in my DNA. I learned to sew when I was a very young girl. My Grandmother, Mother, older Sister and her mother all sewed and it was never even discussed that I would learn to sew and I did.
This is an old Singer that I got out of storage a couple months ago thinking I should be using it for all the paper I have been sewing. Hmmm...once you have a new machine like my Pfaff it is really hard to go backwards. I tried to sew on it but I must admit I keep using my new machine with all of its ease and features I have grown to love.
This is the desk area with fabulous open shelves above which I tend to use as display for my numerous bits of this and that I collect and love. You can also see that I tend to pile things and pending projects on any flat surface I have. Drives Mr. C crazy however this is my room so I can close the door and he doesn't have to see it. :o) When I took these photos I didn't plan on posting the before and hopefully the after (not today!) so the photo cutoffs are a bit incomplete. Yes, you do see my covered up IBM Selectric II typewriter (with changeable font ball) that I will not get rid of. I actually still use it from time to time.

This is another random photo of my very messy room. So yesterday after I took these photos I got the cleaning supplies and a ladder and began at the top to clean and organize this wonderful room I love. Today I am continuing my journey of making this room just that much better for my creativity. I hope to complete my task and take new photos to share with you very soon.
May you have a wonderful and sunny and creative weekend...
Prayers and Blessings to all who have experienced family and/or friends who have been touched by the horrific weather across this country.

Oh .... WOW!!! What a fabulous craft room!! Such a wonderful size. Love looking at all the bits and pieces. No computer here though that I can see ... do you have a computer room? LOL! Don't envy you the tidying up, that's the worst bit, but thoroughly satisfying when done. keeleyxx
ReplyDeleteYou have a lovely place for creating! I actually like to re-organize: I find so many things I forgot I had! Looking forward to seeing your 'room' all spiffy.
ReplyDeleteI love your room, mess and all! It looks like a beehive of activity and creativity and an all-around wonderful place to be!
ReplyDeletehaving said that, I do understand your desire to clean and organize it - I fight the same battle constantly!
The sun is shining so it just might be a fabulous weekend here after all!
A messy room is a happy room - at least when crafting is concerned! LOL You have such a great creating space. Thanks for sharing! Theresa
ReplyDeleteYou know it doesn't look messy at all to me, but I'm comparing to my craft cottage which atm is crazy messy!!!! I have projects stacked everywhere. I teach a craft class for homeschoolers and we made paper last class. I haven't had the time to put away all the supplies, so they are stacked inside and outside on the porch!!! I had to make party invitations by Sat. for a lady and I still have rubber stamps, paper and glitter everywhere!! LOL I guess you don't care all about this, I just got carried away!!! Sorry!!
ReplyDeleteHome Sweet Home! I know what you mean about organizing and reorganizing. It just goes on and on for me, too. You really have a lovely room underneath there!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Suz
Yes a sweet space in which to create and I see you have a Pfaff too. I am married to mine LOL!!! It's all about making a mess (I mean pulling things out to create with!) and then reorganizing.

That's a fantastic studio!!! Oooh, and how nice that you have a sofa as well. It doesn't look all that messy to me but I do know what a great feeling it is to get everything all cleaned and ready for the next creative burst. Hope you had a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely sewing/craft room, it dosen't look a bit messy to me at all. My grandmother taught me to sew when I was a child. I used to make all of my sons clothes when he was small, even things for my DH. now a days its mostly for my crafting. ohh sweet memories.. TFS.

Awk! How great to have a craft and a sewing room! 2 machines is often handy when you don't want to change thread and settings but I understand, My Nina has pretty well spoilt me as well. Can't wait to see how you tweak an already very cool room! (I'm a piler as well, vbsigh)
ReplyDeleteLove this room. I to have a Pfaff (Creative Vision). I treat it like royalty, so when it came to sewing on paper I bought an inexpensive Brother machine at Costco. It is a fun little machine too. Wish my sewing room was more organized though. LOL
ReplyDeleteIt must feel great to get things in order. Seeing your neat sewing space reminds me that I should get going on clearing mine out too.
