Slow-Down Therapy...

This little image is from this Amazon link.  Slow-Down Therapy by Linus Mundy.  I was looking for a book in our home library and this little gem caught my attention.  By the inscription I wrote inside the cover, I purchased it for Mr. C July 2001.  I requested he do one of these every day until they became "natural" to him so that he could enjoy life and be happy.  Mr. C was newly retired...again!...and he just cannot seem to sit still.  One word describes Mr. C and that word is "DRIVEN".  He is happiest when he is going Mach Four with his hair on fire!!!
I am now reading this book.  And for the next few weeks I shall unplug myself and practice enjoying life...one day at a time to fully be in the moments.
Example:
Number 11.  Allow yourself time to be lazy and unproductive.  Rest isn't a luxury; its a necessity.
I shall take some time to challenge myself to actually enjoy my days.
I won't be commenting on your blogs and I will be missing each and every one of you.  I consider you my friends and I truly care about you and what you are doing.  I do hope you will return to my blog when I am refreshed, re-charged, re-inspired and truly happy enjoying life.  This is not a sad time for me...quite the opposite.  I will have lots to share with all y'all as they say in the South.
Thank you my dears.  Creative Bliss...

  4. Taking time to be lazy....is a strange concept for me. I was raised thinking we needed to be busy, doing something, even mealtimes were rushed. Lately I have been trying to take the time to enjoy and appreciate daily living, not all things need to be accomplished at high speed. Enjoy being unplugged, I hope all the roses smell sweet!

  6. My dear Sherry,
your husbond sounds exatly like mine,-- rainy weather, with nothing to do outside is a terrible day for him, after he retired ,he can`t relax inside, doing "nothing".
I hope your next weeks will be amazingly wonderful and happy. Enjoy having time to yourself and Mr. C- experience and relax, and come back and tell about it all !
    Hugs from Dorthe

  13. Enjoy your time. We often spread ourselves too thin. I am learning to step back and just enjoy the day as it unfolds rather than forcing things or creating a constant to-do list. Wishing you all the best, Tammy
