West Coast Lotus Meet...

Thankfully the huge wildfire is 98% contained and the smoke has not been an issue for many days. Last weekend Mr. C and I took four days and drove to Lake Tahoe for an annual West Coast Lotus Meet.  Lotus owners and their cars get together and have fun with their cars.  This is a photo of Lake Tahoe I "lifted" from Bill on the WCLM FB page.  Thank you Bill.  As many times as I went around the lake I never got a decent photo.  I have now learned that there are only two seasons in Tahoe...Snow and Road Work!  We had horrific torn up roads in every direction and 30 minute delays constantly.  To say Mr. C's beloved car does not like conditions such as these would be a huge understatement.  Thankfully our weather was PERFECT!!!

We stayed at the Ridge Resort in Stateline and it really was wonderful.  The elevation is 7,648 feet above sea level. We felt like we were on top of the world.  Each day there was an outdoor wedding just by happen-stance. This photo I "lifted" from Craig who takes wonderful photos.  Thank you Craig.

Here are some of the beautiful Lotus cars at the Minden Airport.  We were to have an autocross however it was not to be due to wind and rocks or some such nuisance.  Instead cars headed out to Virginia City and other locations such as Carson City or Reno.  After all the owners LOVE to drive their cars!

Here we are at the Lake Tahoe Golf Course for our Concourse event and luncheon.  The weather couldn't have been any better.  Here you can see there were lots of vintage and also newer Lotus models.  Mr. C has the centerfold here with his 2000 Lotus Esprit Twin Turbo V8 in Black with Magnolia leather interior.  His is rather rare as it is one of 91 imported to the USA.

And the winner of the Esprit category is Mr. C!  The prize is a bottle of wine hand-signed by Mario Andretti (not pictured).  Perfect for Mr. C.

Here is a photo of me with our friends we met years ago on another Lotus gathering. Our extended weekend came to a close and it is always good to be home.  I cannot believe how exhausted we both were due to the amount of driving and the horrible condition of the roads.  Stress really wipes me out.
Our weather is wonderful.  We are still terribly dry and need rain and snow.  I never want snow however with our well running out of water too many times I definitely understand the need for snow to fill our water tables.  It will take years to come back up to normal so the experts say.
I am hoping to get creative and spend time in my studio this week.  I have lots of plans...
Today as I was waiting for an appointment I saw a calendar with a little birdie on the photo.  The caption..."Dare to Delight".  Now that I really liked.  I think I shall "lift" that saying.
Creative Bliss to all...

  7. Great photos Sherry! One of my fondest memories is when my boyfriend and I (now my hubby) went to see a couple of shows at the casino in Lake Tahoe. It started to snow as we were walking there and it was magical to us Southern Californians. We saw BB King in a very small side venue there. The cost to see him was we had to purchase a drink. It was a fantastic show! Even better than the one we paid to see in the larger theater. Lake Tahoe is a gorgeous place, whether you are on the CA or NV side.
