Bright spot...

Here we are in mid February and winter and yes it is snowing again today. However with my new "cheery, not dreary" attitude I felt it was most appropriate to post this beautiful photo of happy cheery begonia flowers taken last July at Butchart Gardens, Victoria BC.

Today I am sitting at my kitchen table with the blinds wide open even though the heater works harder and I have lots of light from all the white snow on the deck. I am using the notebook computer and editing lots of photos previously taken. I find it much more pleasant to sit here than in the office where there are no windows.

At least I am not in bed with the covers pulled over my head waiting for summer and sunshine and warmth. :-)

Have a cup of hot cocoa and enjoy your day as much as I am enjoying mine.

A very Happy Valentine's Day to each and everyone.

From the foothills/mountains of Northern California we are having a white snowy winterland.

We, as all of California, so desperately need the water for our survival that we are extremely grateful for this set of storms. It is incredibly beautiful to say the least. I am merely thankful that I do not have to go out driving around in this weather.

Tuesday tickles...

This is the Saucy Chick studio where we create wonderful things that everyone needs to have. This picture includes our good friend Sylvia who needed an urgent intervention making some lovely anniversary table favors. Of course we did more laughing than anything else. I just love it when the studio is busy and productive.

Lots of ideas and thoughts are getting ready to explode in the studio as the days become warmer and longer. Let's stay tuned for updates.

I am still learning so much on how to do all this wonderful computer technology. The latest to come to me is facebook. My daughter set up her profile and convinced me to become one of her "friends". Okay...now came the tough part. How do I do that? Well, she called me and walked me through the process and it was actually quite simple. Oh, not to say that I didn't have some issues. Some how I became a groupie for Ellen deGeneres and her quotes of the day. What!!! I admit I have watched her show and listened to her comedy routines but a quote of the day groupie is not for me! Luckily I was able to delete that from my facebook profile. I will merely be happy if facebook allows readers to get to our blog and our etsy shop (www.createology.etsy.com). We are still awaiting the first and critical sale so that we can get the stigma of zero sales off our shop. Please do check out our items for sale. Also, we are not getting comments on how this blogging is doing for you readers. We are pretty good at accepting constructive criticism so that we can improve what we are doing.

So, Tuesday tickles is just a mere rambling today and hopefully brought a smile to your faces.

Impossible Pie...

This is for my daughter Shelby as she really wants this recipe of Impossible Pie that I used to make years and years ago. I apologize for the messy dish and the pieces missing but YUM it was good.

Place in a blender the following:

1 C shredded coconut

1/2 C (1 stick) soft BUTTER

1/2 tsp nutmeg or cinnamon or allspice

3/4 C sugar

1/2 C flour

pinch of salt

2 tsp pure vanilla

2 C milk

3 eggs

Blend well and pour into a large greased (Pam spray) piepan.

Bake at 350 degrees in oven approximately 40 minutes. The coconut will form a lovely brownish crust on top and the flour forms its own lower crust. This pie tastes like a coconut custard. I like it warm from the oven or cold from the frig. I just like it! YUMMY!
